Walk-In Chambers

Large-Scale Environmental Simulation for Stability, Shelf-Life & Aging Tests

BINDER Walk-In Chambers are high-performance climate simulation systems designed for long-term and accelerated testing under controlled temperature and humidity conditions. Built for industries including pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, cosmetics, and medical technology, these chambers offer ample space and exceptional climate uniformity for demanding stability, shelf-life, and aging test protocols.

🚪 What Is a Walk-In Chamber?

A walk-in chamber is a large-format climate testing chamber that allows users to physically enter the controlled environment. Much like standard constant climate chambers, walk-in models simulate defined temperature and humidity conditions over time, enabling real-world and accelerated environmental testing. The spacious interior makes them ideal for storing or testing large quantities of samples or oversized test items.

⚙️ Construction & Functionality

BINDER Walk-In Chambers feature a sealed stainless steel interior with an externally mounted conditioning unit. This setup allows easy maintenance with minimal disruption to internal test conditions. The airflow is precisely managed to ensure homogeneous climate distribution throughout the chamber — in both space and time.

✅ Key Applications

  • Pharmaceutical Stability Testing: Fully compliant with ICH Q1A (R2), Q1B, and VICH GL3 guidelines for long-term and accelerated testing of APIs and drug products.
  • Food Industry Shelf-Life Testing: Simulate diverse storage conditions with ASLT (Accelerated Shelf Life Testing) to define expiration dates.
  • Cosmetic Product Stability: Perform testing according to ISO/TR 18811 and Cosmetics Europe guidelines to validate formulation and packaging resilience.
  • Life Sciences & Microbiology: Ideal for cultivating bacteria, insects, or plants with precise control over temperature and humidity.
  • Medical Device Aging (ASTM F1980): Conduct real-time or accelerated aging tests for sterile barrier systems and surgical tools.
