IRTracer-100

Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrophotometer

The IRTracer-100 FTIR delivers outstanding sensitivity, achieving a signal-to-noise (S/N) ratio of 60,000:1, high resolution at 0.25 cm⁻¹, and high-speed scanning with the capability to acquire up to 20 spectra per second. Its performance is bolstered by advanced dynamic alignment and a built-in interferometer with a dehumidifier, ensuring exceptional reliability across medium and high-end models.

With a vast library of approximately 12,000 spectra and comprehensive data analysis programs, the IRTracer-100 is ideal for a variety of applications, including contaminant analysis, time-course studies, and rapid scan programs for tracking reactions.

A prime example of its capabilities is the analysis of trace amounts of silicone oil in paraffin oil, performed using the IRTracer-100 with a single-reflection ATR accessory. Despite the extremely weak peak at 1260 cm⁻¹, with an absorbance as low as 0.00015, the system successfully detected the signal with remarkable sensitivity and high S/N ratio.

Key Features:

  • Difference Spectrum: Subtraction of the paraffin oil spectrum to isolate the silicone oil signal.
  • Measurement Resolution: Performed at 4 cm⁻¹ with the DLATGS detector.
  • High Accuracy: Achieving highly accurate quantification and identification with 0.25 cm⁻¹ resolution. This level of resolution is ideal for detailed analysis, such as the separation of gas sample peaks. For instance, when ammonia gas was measured at 0.25 cm⁻¹ resolution, peaks in the 805 – 810 cm⁻¹ and 785 – 790 cm⁻¹ ranges were clearly resolved.
