Calypso™ II

Characterization of protein and macromolecular interactions with CG-MALS

The Calypso™ II by Wyatt Technology is an advanced system designed for label-free and immobilization-free characterization of biomolecular interactions using Composition-Gradient Multi-Angle Light Scattering (CG-MALS). When paired with a DAWN™ or miniDAWN™ MALS detector, Calypso II accurately measures binding affinities and absolute molecular stoichiometries of complex biomolecular interactions.

Key Features:

  • Comprehensive Interaction Analysis: Calypso II determines equilibrium association constants (Kd) and absolute stoichiometries for reversible self- and hetero-associations. It also assesses reaction or aggregation rates and non-specific interaction parameters, such as virial coefficients.
  • Versatile Application Range: Beyond characterizing biomolecular interactions, Calypso II automates measurements of weight-average molar mass and the refractive index increment (dn/dc) for polymers, providing a broad analytical scope.
  • CALYPSO™ Software Integration: Each Calypso system includes CALYPSO software, offering a versatile tool for analyzing biomolecular interactions in solution through light scattering.

Incorporating the Calypso II into your laboratory enhances the precision and reliability of biomolecular interaction analyses, facilitating a deeper understanding of molecular behaviors and interactions.
